Anna Lindh Foundation
The Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) was established in 2005, born out of the vision laid down by the Barcelona Process. The Barcelona Process was an initiative launched in 1995 that fundamentally changed Euro-Mediterranean relations. This initiative represented a turning point, bringing together the European Union and 12 Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries at the first Euro-Mediterranean Conference. The resulting Euro-Mediterranean Partnership aimed to build a common area of peace, stability, shared prosperity, and dialogue between cultures and civilizations.
The Anna Lindh Foundation headquarters is located in the heart of the Mediterranean in Alexandria, Egypt. The Foundation strives to achieve its objectives as an intergovernmental organization by bringing together civil society entities, institutions, governments, and change-makers from across the Euro-Mediterranean region. Through its diverse programs and initiatives, the Anna Lindh Foundation provides spaces for people to meet, learn, and collaborate on key issues of common concern. The Anna Lindh Foundation builds purposeful networks that transform dialogue into action, creating a multiplier effect that empowers individuals and communities, and spreading positive change through the exchange of knowledge and experiences, across the region where diversity is celebrated and all voices are valued.
